Best Chile Rellenos in the area. Combination plates are really good also, especially if you cannot decide what you want. Small place with good service.
Representative of great New Mexican food. Flavorful red Chile in the enchiladas and great sopapillas. Salsa could have more flavor and be spicier
Good food. Fast service. Reasonable price.
The best place in town to have breakfast.
Coffee was good. Love this downtown mom and pop cafe.
The breakfast is not bad.
Food is great. Love the customer service!
Always great New Mexican food. Combination Ranchero has been my favorite for 30 years.
Awesome food. Underrated place.
One of the best mexican restaurants in Silver. Great service by server and young man bussing tables
Kind of a home in the wall but it's a good place to grab a bite. It was clean here and the staff were nice. This is definitely a place the locals come as it seemed they knew everyone by name. I'm pretty sure there isn't a bathroom here which is why it didn't get 5 stars. Still a place I'd go back to get a bite.
Great family owned restaurant. Good food and friendly service, priced right.
Chili salsa with chips was good. Nice environment and friendly staff. Could have had more tuna on the sandwich. Overall good experience
Foods pretty good. It's a small restaurant so seating is a bit snug. Waitresses aren't very friendly. Food is priced so that each item costs you separately. Even the butter pats. Wouldn't suggest it to anyone except maybe the locals as they get better service (yep it was that kind of small town strange you just don't see much of anymore).
A delicious café in the heart of silver city that offers quality New Mexican food and the the culture of the area. Enjoy!
Great Mexican food place 👌 me and my family have probably gone there 20+ years and it is usually the same good food and friendly staff. One of our insurance agency clients works there and she's always been friendly. Doesn't look like much but you won't regret it. We often get takeout and enjoy the food. Very reasonable prices. In today's raising costs of food places this place keeps it realistic. Try it sometime.
Yum. Stopped here one night in a work trip. Came in right before they closed. They were very gracious and served my quickly. I was able to make it out before they closed by a few minutes but didn't feel rushed. The food was great and the atmosphere was special. Go check this place out!
Amazing Mexican food. Excellent quality, cheap price for the amount you get, and good service.
I love this place!! Great food great prices. The salsa is HOT (a little too hot to eat a lot of).
Good food - reasonable prices - friendly folks.
Great family restaurant. Wonderful freshly cooked food. On Bullard in Old Town Silver City. Good honest food. Always a good experience
Just had breakfast. The place looked really dirty. The waitress looked pretty mean and unhelpful. The food was real cheap quality but the price was crazy expensive. Never stopping here again. I think that next time I'll be better off at a truck stop. At least people there are more helpful with cleaner restrooms. Save your money and go somewhere else!
kind of feeling sorry for this place given that it was the only restaurant open early for breakfast but that town is dying despite their efforts to become some chique New Age place. The first breakfast I had was mushy not even sure what was in it so I could not even finish it. The second time I went to give it a second chance with slightly better having scrambled eggs with peppers and onions but just way too much peppers. The Waitresses are nice but lethargic and don't even come back (despite the place being tiny) to ask if you want more water. Again the low energy low taste low caring could be because of the town that if you're not into weird Counter Culture coffee and beer at night there's really nothing to do there which kind os spills over to the restaurant.
At first glance it seems a bit shabby. But don't let that fool you, the food is great, people are friendly, and the prices are just right. During rush hour they can get busy, but between they're fairly slow, the best time to stop in. The food is made fresh, and you can watch them over the bar of you want. Being new Mexico born and raised, the Chile is on the more mild side, but it does give full flavor. My wife and I will definitely keep coming here for a while.
Great food! The food is always consistent. The service is good. We are never disappointed. Can't go wrong with the taco plate, enchiladas, tostadas or the burritos. The service is fast too which is a plus however the place is small so seating can be a challenge. We recommend this place for lunch or dinner.
I had the 3toco combo plate love their food 😍
Very good food, freshly cooked, real Mexican/American fare at reasonable prices... there's good reason that this little hole-in-the-wall has been open for many decades! there are a couple of prettier places with higher prices in Silver City that like to set your hair on fire with hot salsas, but I don't recommend them. I suggest that you become a regular customer at Nancy's Silver Cafe, like the many locals!
It’s incredibly mediocre. Not bad, but utterly unmemorable. Seats suck tho. When they say “home cooking” they literally mean it is what you could make at home. Go to Millie’s Bake House instead, or, if in a rush, Don Juan’s Burritos.
Excellent excellent excellent service! We have frequented this Cafe many times. This time, we were celebrating our daughter's graduation and invited 21 guest to join us. They went above and beyond the call of duty to service us and to take care of every single one of us in a timely manner. The food was delicious, as usual. Everyone enjoyed the great variety of meals and everyone had something different to eat. The waitresses were very attentive to us, we're very quick to assist us, and very friendly. We would like to give a special thank you to the owner Miss Dora for making this graduation celebration for our daughter a special one at her restaurant. We love Silver Cafe, and we will definitely be returning again, we highly recommend it!
Acceptable but not impressive food.
Terrific chorizo + egg breakfast! Wonderful service, lovely authentic early 1900 bldg, we will definitely stop here next time we are in Silver🤩
The food is unremarkable but the service is swift and friendly.
No trip to Silver City is complete without a visit to Nancy's. Nothing fancy, just great New Mexican food and reasonable prices. Lately I've been craving the Chile Bowl but everything on the menu is good.
Service was awful and somehow discriminatory, waitress took around 10m to take our orders, didn't refill our ☕ cups until asked for(they did so to other customers without asking). We asked for the check and we had to wait 5m again until my dad went to the register to pay her... We wait til that restaurant to have breakfast and I ended up being very 😠 mad...
Awesome place! Amazing food! Great service. Reasonable prices.
Wonderful atmosphere and real food
I have loved Silver Cafe for 40 years now. Yes, 40. In believable in today’s terms. Family owned. So wonderful to see their success over the years. Unfortunately the family has given it up. Food not up to par - except their RED CHILE! Would only take a small incentive to get back to the old “Nancy’s” DO NOT LET THIS ICON DIE!
Service was good. However, it was the most bland Mexican food I have ever had. No flavor at all. The chili relleno has very little cheese and no sauce. The enchilada was to have green chili sauce, if it was there, I couldn't find it. Thank goodness, the salt shaker was full.
Fantastic food for not alot of money.
Delicious food. Fast service.
Great food, Great service at a Great price. I will return.
The atmosphere is what we expected and what we were looking for... small town, local, established mom & pop. The food, however, was disappointing. Most lacked any real flavor. And the tamale was one we could have had back home in the Midwest. Will have to look for another place to be our "local fave".
It was great. Jordan and Tonja took great care of us. Anthony is becoming an excellent cook and Dora makes great red chili
Good food and nice people. Some food was very unique. I would return.
Good diner food. Service very slow. Waiter seemed uninterested in helping. Tried to give our order to other diners. Strange since there were only about six tables in use.
Always love the food here!
Very good service and very good food
I always look for locally owned (non chain) restaurants when I get into new town. I found Silver Cafe driving through town after camping and hiking in Gila Forest. I had breakfast and it was super -- great food, service AND the flour tortillas were nice and thick, hot and slightly charred, just like mom used to make.
So glad we stopped here on our trip. By far the best Mexican food we have ever had. Staff was wonderful. Can't wait to try again.
I have no idea why this place was so crowded. The food was unremarkable. On the bland side. Their "hot" chile had far more salt than peppers, and fell far short of hot. I won't be back.
